Obituary of Margaret R. Beasley

Margo Rose Beasley passed away peacefully at home on March 9th, 2024 at the age of 74. She was surrounded by her daughters at the time of passing, and spent her final days showered with love from her grandchildren. No services will be held, per her request. Her inurnment will be held at Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise, Idaho on Friday, April 26th--the event is private to immediate family only.

Margo was born on January 21st, 1950 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Harry Dowbenko and Lillian Palmer. She met her husband, Ira Joe Beasley (deceased, 2009), in Grand Forks, North Dakota and they were wed in Winnipeg on April 27th, 1985. After being stationed in Incirlik Air Force Base in Turkey for four years, they received orders for Mountain Home Air Force Base and continued their residence in Mountain Home for nearly 30 years. Margo dedicated many years of service to the Mountain Home Police Department before retiring to stay home and spend more time doing what she loved. She spent her time selling Avon, participating in the bowling league, gardening, knitting, volunteering at the Senior Center, and fostering Boxer rescues. In 2018 she adopted a rescue puppy that she named Chance, who ultimately became her perfect companion. Margo moved to Kuna in the fall of 2021 to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren. Her last few years were complete with lots of quality family time filled with love and laughter.

Margo is survived by her mother, Lillian Dowbenko (103!) of Winnipeg, Manitoba; daughter Laura Ekosky of Winnipeg, Manitoba; son Danny Ekosky of Selkirk, Manitoba; daughter Melissa Whiteley of Kuna; daughter Keshana Beasley of Boise; daughter Shantell Beasley of Kuna; twelve grandchildren--Damien, Justin, Sarah, Daniel, Audrie, Ava, Emerson, Alivia, Karson, Drew, Kai, and Kamdynn; brother Dan Dowbenko of Winnipeg, Manitoba; sister Connie Chartier of Winnipeg, Manitoba; and sister Noreen Kanski of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Margo was generous, caring, and selfless; feisty and loved to make people laugh; would do anything for her family, friends, and neighbors; and was one of the strongest women you could ever meet. Though she will be greatly missed, her memory will live on in everyone who was blessed to have known her.

The Family would like to thank Keystone Hospice and Visiting Angels Home Care, for the care and support they provided.
