Obituary of Clara Mae Foster

Clara Mae Foster, 94, passed away at Ashely manor in Mountain Home on February 6, 2024. Clara is survived by her daughter Clara Kornish, her grandchildren Richard Thomas, Katie Thomas, and Melissa Kisely, and her six great-grandchildren.

Clara was born in Buhl on January 27, 1930, to Joseph Humphrey and Isabelle Stoddard. She spent her childhood in Twin Falls. She was the youngest of nine children.

She married Rolland Foster in 1957 and was with him until his death in 1965. She worked as a farm laborer and at Idaho Frozen Foods. She moved to Jerome and raised her daughter as a single mother.

Clara didn’t have much, but she enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved to go to all the events in the area especially parades and dances. She loved the Old Time Fiddlers in Shoshone and were friends with many of them. She loved to camp and explore. She would take her station wagon down any trail she could. The mountains and Shoshone Falls were some of her favorite places to go. She loved listening to music. She was listening to her favorite singer in her final moments, Gene Autry. She had a very feisty and stubborn spirit and will be remembered by all who met her for it, along with her love of coffee and her sweet tooth.

Clara loved her daughter and grandchildren. She would move to wherever they would go. She moved with them to Mountain Home in 2005 to be near them. She loved them dearly and was always there to help. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Isabelle (Twin Falls ID), her siblings Joseph Willy Humphrey (Burley) Mary Goodrich (Marrow, OR), Desmond S. Humprey, (Jerome), Bessie K. Thompson (Portland, OR), Charles Humphrey (Rexburg), Richard Humphrey (Prineville, OR), Virginia Humphrey (Mountain Home), and Alexander Humphrey (Aurora, CO) and her husband, Rolland Foster (Twin Falls, ID).

The viewing will be on Monday February 12th from 4 to 6pm at Rost Funeral Home (500 N 18th E, Mountain Home, ID 83647)·and services will be held Tuesday February 13th at 11am also at Rost Funeral Home. A small graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Twin Falls (2296 Kimberly Rd, Twin Falls, ID 83301) at 2:30pm.
