Betty Thompson

Obituary of Betty Jane Thompson

On December 29, 2023 a hard fought battle was lost and this world lost an angel that was finally called home. Betty Jane Thompson passed away on this day with her daughter and son holding on to her with all the love they had to offer. Even though she was in her bedroom for these last few months, she was not alone. The amount of friends and family that loved Betty truly showed as she never knew who would be showing up to visit and show love and support. Bettys love and smile will be remembered by many and passed on with stories for even longer. Her impact will be endless in the lives she came in contact with.

Betty loved her family, friends and doing her favorite things with them. Whether it was bass fishing, going to jackpot, going to church, thrift shopping or just sitting chatting over coffee it was always a good time for her. She could make anything you did with her fun. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and anyone with an ear to listen would know. Her family was not limited to blood either, she was known to take on and unofficially adopt her children and grandchildren’s friends, and their friends, friends too. She knew no limits of giving and listening, everyone one was worthy of a chance to her.

Betty’s career spanned over 40 years of being a beautician at Patsy’s Beauty Boutique. In that time she befriended everyone she worked with and her clients. Her work friends quickly became some of the closest friends she had.

Bettys passing was preceded by her father and mother Mike & Ruby Horgan, brothers and sister John Patrick Horgan, Mike and Carol Horgan, and Ruth McIntyre. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Dawn & Gene Palmer, son and daughter in law Jason & Brett Thompson, brothers and sister in-laws Bob & Mary Horgan and Tom & Janet Horgan, sister, Patsy Roberts, her grandchildren Kassidee & Greg Traubel, Kelsey & Landon Hoss, Kaston Palmer, and Claire Thompson and many more nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Bettys celebration of life will be held at the Nazarene church on 1/12/2024 at 11:am. All flowers and donations can be sent to the MH Church of Nazarene or Rost Funeral Home.
