Elizabeth Oatney

Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Oatney

Elizabeth Oatney passed away December 24, 2023 (late Christmas eve) at a
local, (Mountain Home), assisted care facility (the Cottages); after a
very brief illness with back pain. It is with very deep sorrow that we
said goodbye to Cindy’s Mother. Elizabeth raised her family in Mountain
Home in the ‘60’s, and early ‘70’s. A few years after her husband
retired from MHAFB in ’68; they moved to Colorado & then settled in
Yuma, AZ. She moved back to Mountain Home a couple of years ago and
resided with Jack and Cindy. Elizabeth so enjoyed being back in the
Mountain Home area. She was so happy about how nice the town looks now,
compared to the mid and late sixties, and early ‘70’s.  She always liked
to mention that to Mayor Sykes and everyone. She is at peace now, and
not experiencing back pain.
She was preceded in death by husband, Eldon (John) of 55 years, and her
son, Ken Oatney (graduating class of MHHS ’69).She is survived by her
daughter, Cindy & Jack (Cindy’s husband of 52 years); and a wonderful
and loving Granddaughter, Liz Oatney Longacre and her husband, Kris, and
their 4 children, Alex, Shelby, Parnelli and Drake of Casper, WY.
Thank you to everyone that took such good care of her; And to all of our
family, friends, neighbors, and everyone else for their support, it
truly means so much to us.
Per Elizabeth’s request she will be cremated, as she also requested no
funeral services.
Sincerely,
Jack & Cindy (Oatney) Menter
