Obituary of Charles William Davis

Charles William Davis
1975 - 2023

Charles (Charlie) William Davis, 48, beloved son, passed away unexpectedly at his home on August 21st, 2023.
Charlie was born January 29th, 1975, to Charles Davis Jr and Donna Myers in Burley, Idaho.

Charlie spent several early years in Idaho, later moving to Anchorage, Alaska after his dad joined the Air Force and was transferred to Elmendorf Air Force Base. The family moved to Texas, Colorado, and then back to Idaho, eventually settling in Mountain Home. His dad passed away in 2003.

Charlie left a legacy of love and care for others. One of his favorite occupations was serving as a caregiver. He transferred some of that love and caring for others to animals. He loved his dog Gunner, whom he considered his best friend. He rescued and befriended many other cats, dogs, and reptiles.

Charlie was a strong advocate against bullying and social injustice and joined with others to stand at the corner of Carl Miller Park to create greater awareness. He had an artistic bent and could draw and sketch pictures with amazing details. He also wrote poetry. He was proud of people’s accomplishments and always tried to support them in whatever they did.

Charlie grew up fishing and camping. He loved riding motorcycles and the first long road trip he took on his new motorcycle was to Burley to visit his Grandma Irene.

Charlie held many jobs throughout the community and was employed by Albertsons at the time of his death. He enjoyed working there, the people he worked with, and the customers he came to know.

Charlie was a fighter at heart and overcame many struggles throughout his life.  A special thanks to the many families and friends who supported him on that journey.

Charlie is survived by his son Lucas, 8; his mother and stepfather, Donna (John) Kieffer, Mountain Home; a step brother, Paul Duncan, Wilmington, Illinois; grandmothers Irene Myers, Burley, Idaho; and Mary Reynolds, Washington; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a dear friend Christine and her family.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 31st, 6:00 p.m., at the First Southern Baptist Church, 1400 North 3rd East Street, Mountain Home, with Pastor Jim Gregory officiating.
