Obituary of Nicole McGuffin

Nicole McGuffin (Durrence) was called home to heaven unexpectedly during a family outing in Utah. She passed from this life on August 6, 2023 in Provo, Utah. Nicole was born on June 23, 1987 in Wichita Kansas to Kellis and Chantel Durrence. Her dad was in the Air Force and in the fall of 1989, he received orders to go to Alaska. She loved it there and became our “Little Eskimo girl.” She always loved camping, fishing, and hunting with her family. That continued into her adult years. In 1998, her dad again received orders and her family moved to Mountain Home Idaho where she attended school and graduated from Mountain Home High School. Nicole loved music and played several instruments including the piano which she taught herself to play. She loved playing in the Jazz Band and the Marching Band in high school and was the Drum Major her Senior year of high school. She went on to march in the Blue Thunder Marching Band at Boise State University. She married Patrick Tracy McGufffin Jr. (TJ) in July 2009. They were blessed with three children, Eli Hunter, GracieMae, and Gwennielynn. TJ served in the Air Force after they were married and they served in North Dakota, Ramstein Germany and Oklahoma where they made many good and lasting friends. She is survived by her husband, children, parents, her brother Caleb, her sister Cassandra and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

The services for Nicole will be held on Friday August 11, 2023 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 790 S. Haskett Street, Mountain Home, ID at 11:00 am. There will be a private family viewing at 10:00 am prior to the service. There will be a public viewing on Thursday August 10, 2023 from 7 to 8:30 pm at the Church on Haskett Street.
