Cecelia Bonita (Bonnie) Clayton Heatley,88 went to be with the lord on June 18th, 2023 with her family by her side. Born January 22nd 1935 in Payette, Idaho. She went to Elementary and High School in Burns Oregon. Following her graduation from high school she attended beauty college at Boise Jr college, where she met her first husband Lynn Clayton. When telling the story of their first meeting she would say “Now there's a good looking guy with a convertible.” They were married on February 14th ,1953 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She went on to have two boys. Rockne l. Clayton (Rocky) and Randall J. Clayton (Randy). The family moved from Boise to Mountain Home, where they bought the Red Barn Market in 1964. After settling in, Bonnie wanted a little girl and adopted Rebecca J. Clayton at 3 days old in September of 1968. Bonnie had asked the boys, “ do you want a baby sister or a boat?” The boys said, “We want a baby sister!” After the novelty of a new baby wore off the boys then asked Bonnie if they could trade her in for the boat. They got the best of both and ended up with a new boat and a new baby sister. A few more years down the road The family built on to the Red Barn and added the garden shop for which Bonnie was known for in Mountain Home for years to come.

After Lynn passed away in December of 81, Bonnie was out celebrating her birthday with her son Randy and this gentleman by the name of Franklin D. Heatley approached the two and asked Bonnie to dance. Her response was a polite no. The song “Jeremiah was a Bullfrog” was playing and she said “this is mine and my son's song”. This did not discourage Frank as he was very persistent and was able to get her number. He continued to call until she finally agreed to go on a date with him. 6 months later they were married July 23rd, 1983. Frank and Bonnie were always at the Boise state games, Tailgating with friends and participating in chilli cook offs. They loved to travel in the motor home and would sometimes winter in Arizona. Then, after 28yrs of marriage, Frank passed away on April 30th, 2011.

Bonnie was an avid seamstress and loved creating. She was an excellent cook and could make a jello dessert like no one else could. She made an art form of cookies and spoiling the grandchildren by sending them home with some.
