Obituary of William Raymond Lewis

William Raymond Lewis, age 72, of Mountain Home passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at home. Services will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. Arrangements are under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Bill was born on September 27, 1950, in Johnson City, New York to Raymond and Margaret Lewis. He was the youngest of six children. Bill spent his early years in Binghamton, New York and when his nation was calling, enlisted in the United States Air Force out of high school at the ripe age of 17. During his time in the Air Force, he ended up in Mountain Home where he met the love of his life, Carol, whom he had been married to for 51 years. Bill and Carol had two children, Joshua and Amber.

A carpenter by trade, Bill was semi-retired as a long-haul truck driver, where he would take his grandkids on summer trips around the country with him. Bill was a loving, ornery, opinionated, genuine and caring man who will be missed by many.

Bill is survived by his wife Carol, his son Joshua, daughter Amber and her husband David, his two grandchildren, Nicholas and Nathan, brothers Robert and Michael Fletcher and sister Linda Lee.

He is preceded in death by both his parents and sister Joann Smith.
