Obituary of Cynthia A. Williams

Cynthia Ann (Tammi) Williams

On October the 1st, at 11:45 pm, Cindi Williams passed away from this life.

She departed at home, out of pain, and surrounded by love. Her long and hard-fought battle with cancer finally came to an end.

Cynthia Ann was born in Rapid City, South Dakota to Mona Tammi and Oscar Stephson, who preceded her in death.

She graduated high school from Lead High, and attended college at Mount Marty, both in South Dakota.

She met Mark Williams in May of 1977 and married him on January 13th, 1980.  When their daughter Current came into their life, Cindi became a different woman: a mother; a friend; a Girl Scout leader and cookie-seller extraordinaire; a PTA participant; a driver-to and cheerleader-of all softball, band practice, and basketball events; a BSU super fan; and an ever-loving presence in her daughter’s life. Seven years later she gave birth to son Oliver. Cindi supported her husband throughout his military career, moving around the country with him and the children.

Cindi loved animals, and was never without a cat in her life. Her cat Purrl was a fancy show-cat, and Cindi delighted in showing her around Hawaii, where Purrl won Best Domestic Cat on more than one occasion. Cindi enjoyed reading, and being with her kids and pets, spending time with Mark, and later in life never ceased to dote on her grandchildren. From buying Girl Scout cookies from Rory, to sending Thatcher the latest BSU apparel, to buying treats for her fur grand-babies, she was the quintessential Gee-ma.

She connected with new family late in life, meeting two half-sisters she never knew existed.

Cindi was preceded in death by her sisters Margaret Henderson and Norma Stewart, and sister Lidia Stewart. She is survived by sister Sandra Scissons of Canistota, SD; sisters Ethel Stephson and Marsha Burkett of Piqua, OH; Mark Williams, her husband of 42 years of Mountain Home; her daughter Current Tuesday Nolen-Williams (wife Hannah) of Herriman, UT; her son Oliver Keoki Williams of Buhl, ID; and grandchildren Aurora Jean Nolen-Williams and Thatcher Corbin Nolen-Williams.
