Delores J. Unrein

September 11, 1934 – September 10, 2022

Laurie was born in Sterling, Colorado to Anna B. Crooks. She attended St. Anthony Catholic School and was a graduate of the class of 1952. On July 23,1953 she married Elmer A. Unrein of Sterling, Colorado and were married for 69 years. She was an active volunteer Gray Lady of the Red Cross, working at base hospitals wherever Elmer was stationed in the Air Force. After their Military career, they retired in Mountain Home, Idaho where she was an active member of many community organizations including the City Beautification Board and Director of the Mountain Home Arts Counsel from 1988 to 1999, when she retired. She was an avid gardener and created a beautifully landscaped home. She loved camping and hiking, spending the winter months in Arizona exploring the many state parks and warm climates. She is preceded in death by her mother and one sibling Robert Sommers of Edmonton, Canada. She leaves behind her beloved husband Elmer Unrein, Mountain Home, Idaho and three children; sons Chris and (wife) LoriAnn of Boise, Idaho, Eric and (partner) Gene of Playa del Carmen, Mexico and daughter Cara and (husband) George Bounds of Boise, Idaho along with six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was a devoted wife to Elmer and beloved friend to many in our community, her generous and kind loving spirit will be truly missed.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Mountain Home.  Arrangements are under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
