Obituary of Sherri Bohling

Sherri Sue Bohling, 74, was delivered to the Lord on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, from sepsis, after a 10 year battle with Alzheimer’s. Please help us celebrate the life of Sherri on September 3, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Carleton, Nebraska.

Sherri was born on October 25, 1947 to Arnold and Dorothy Heinrichs, in Davenport, Nebraska. Sherri attended Carleton school K-1st grade. She loved to tell the story to her grandkids of how she often rode her horse, Roxy, to school. In second grade Sherri began attending Deshler Public School, where she graduated, class of 1966. Sherri was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Carleton, Nebraska. She had a very firm faith in Jesus and drew strength and comfort, through that faith, her entire life. During the last years of her life, through her disease progression she would often rely on the Lord to ease her sorrows, pain, and suffering. In high school, Sherri was the majorette for the marching band, a cheerleader, and played the clarinet. In 1967, Sherri graduated from Reese and Sybil, In Lincoln, Nebraska, with her cosmetology license. Sherri met the greatest love of her life, Randy Bohling, in the fall of 1961. They were married December 23, 1967 at Peace Lutheran Church in Deshler, Nebraska. In 1969, after Randy’s service in Korea, they moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where he was stationed in the Army. While in Colorado, Randy and Sherri, were gifted the blessing of a baby girl, Amy Jo, who they loved as their own child their entire lives. In 1970 was the birth of their oldest son, Michael Sean. In the summer of 1970, they move back to Thayer county, Nebraska where Andrew James was born in 1976 and their daughter, Amber Lynn, was born in 1980. Over the next several years Sherri spent her time being and doing many things. Her most proud accomplishment in life was being a loved wife, Mom and Grandma. She also was a beautician, and a Mary Kay consultant who won numerous awards across America. She and Randy operated their farm and trucking company complete with livestock, crops and several trucks, for many years. In 2001, Randy and Sherri moved to Mountain home, Idaho, where they remained until her passing. In Idaho, Sherri was a receptionist in a medical clinic, but her main focus was being involved with her grandchildren and making them feel loved. She touched their lives as much as they touched hers. Sherri always enjoyed staying busy and active. When she had free time throughout her life she kept busy with her favorite hobbies. She was a very gifted stained glass artist, she enjoyed water and snow skiing, dancing with her husband and their many friends, horse riding, and she could grow a beautiful vegetable and flower garden. Sherri was a very social woman who loved interacting with anyone and everyone. Sherri never met a stranger, she could make conversation with any person, at any place, at any time. She had a special gift, even at the end, during her battle with Alzheimer’s, her smile would light up any room and she could make you feel like the most loved and most special person in the entire world. She was a wonderful and caring woman who has blessed the lives of every single person she has ever met.

Sherri is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jimmy, granddaughter Jennifer, and several of her favorite cousins, Aunts and Uncles.

Sherri will be greatly missed by her husband of 54 years, Randy, her 4 children: Amy (Michael) Jennings of Hickman, Ne, Michael (Terry) Bohling of Featherville, Id, Drew (Dianne) Bohling of Eagle, Id, Amber (Tim) Bourland of Mountain Home, Id, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 4 special nieces and nephews. Our lives have all had a permanent imprint on them because of this wonderful woman. Our lives will never be the same without her warm smile, soft and gentle voice, fun loving nature, and fierce embrace.
