Obituary of Margaret L. Wooley

Margaret Louise Wooley, age 93, of Mountain Home, passed away on May 23, 2022, at a local care center.  A graveside service will be held at 10:45 AM, on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Mountain View Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Margaret was born on February 11, 1929 to John C. and Agnes Elliott of Middleton, Rhode Island.  She was raised on a family dairy farm, milking cows while also attending schools in Middleton and Newport, Rhode Island. In her spare time, she played piano for the service men at the Army-Navy YMCA.

At 17 she met and dated for some months, Keith E. Wooley.  They married on November 22, 1947 and spent most of their married life in the service, relocating around the country.  Once they were finally settled in Mountain Home, she decided to continue her education and received a BA in Elementary Education, an MA in counseling and curriculum, and an administration certificate in 1987.  She accomplished all this while raising her six girls.

Margaret is survived by her daughters; Chris Lensmire of Eagle, Wisconsin, Jan Scruggs, of Arlington, Washington, Marilyn Peak of Hammett, Idaho, Lori Barton, Kathy Franks, Ginny Jess all of Mountain Home, Idaho, her sister “Tots” Thompson of Deep River, Connecticut, 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her husband Keith, her parents, and two grandchildren Jeremy and Cody.
