Obituary of Keith Allen Hribek

August 4, 1966 - March 12, 2022
Mountain Home, Idaho - Hribek, Keith Allen, 55, died on March 12, 2022 with his beloved dog Leo by his side. Keith was a graduate of Ellsworth High School, Michigan in 1984. Immediately after graduation, he joined the United States Air Force. When assigned to Mountain Home Air Force Base Keith thought with a name like that, it had to be beautiful and he liked to joke about how misnamed it was. He grew to love the area though and made the decision to never leave. His passion in life was bicycles. He raced BMX bikes growing up and was always fixing or rebuilding them. He exchanged his BMX bike for a mountain bike when he came to Idaho. It didn't take him long to decide he could build a better bike than he could buy and was not exaggerating when he said that his bike was worth more than his car – to be fair, it WAS a rather lame car. He left the Air Force and began working at The Cycle Works bike shop until the business closed and then went to work at Ken's Bicycle Warehouse. Many times, on payday, he would owe the bike shop with all his bike upgrade purchases. Keith found his way back to the Air Force in 1999 working on generators. He retired as a Master Sergeant from the Air Force in 2016. Keith was preceded in death by his dad, Kenneth Hribek and his brother, Brian Hribek. He is survived by his mom and stepdad, Patricia and Patrick McKinney, in addition to extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery at 10100 N. Horseshoe Bend Rd behind Dry Creek Cemetery, on April 28th at 1:00 PM. Please join Patricia and Patrick immediately following the service at The Elks Lodge located at 6608 W Fairview Boise, Idaho from 2:30PM – 5:30PM to share stories and celebrate Keith's life.
