Patricia Eagley

Obituary of Patricia Ann Eagley

Patricia Eagley, age 79, frequent hugger, ruthless cribbage player, stranger to no one, and ‘Grandma Pat’ to everyone, died on Thursday, January 20, 2022. Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 790 S. Haskett St in Mountain Home on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 11:00A.M. with burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

There’s much to be remembered about Grandma Pat like, being an eager garage sale goer, playing dominoes and cribbage mercilessly, or the amount of Pepsi she consumed over the years. However, her biggest impact was on the lives of everyone around her. She never met a stranger, always had time for everyone, and had an undying love for every child she ever met. She routinely handed out candy, never left without a hug, and wrote letters for birthdays, holidays, or ‘just because’ without ever expecting something in return.

To her (biological) grandkids, she will always be remembered the loudest voice from the sidelines at their sporting events, the one who brought oranges to every game (even when it wasn’t her turn), and ready to run out on the field if they were ever hurt or wronged. She was their biggest supporter, both on and off the field.

“She just had a way of loving us and really everyone around her so unconditionally. She would embrace everyone around her as her own children/grandchildren. My friends, her primary classes at church, the missionaries, her red hatters.”

“She wasn’t just our grandma…she was everyone’s grandma, no matter what.”

And that’s how she’ll be remembered, as everyone’s grandma, ‘Grandma Pat’. The little old lady that could reprimand and demand respect from kids and adults alike, yet you still felt how fiercely she loved you. The one who would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it, even though she didn’t have much to give. Even while hooked to oxygen, she made efforts to socialize, go to church, and be there for others.

Grandma Pat is survived by her kids, grandkids, and countless others who had the privilege of cross paths with this woman throughout her life.

May this obituary ignite fond memories of ‘Grandma Pat’, who is smiling down upon us, hoping that we respect each other, take a moment to say hello, and mind our manners. While ‘Grandma Pat’ will be dearly missed by all who knew her, she would want everyone to know that she was more than prepared to meet her Lord and Savior.
