Obituary of Howard Ray Harrison

Howard "Ray" Harrison passed from this earth on Sunday, March 28, 2021. Ray was born on February 11, 1949 in Vernal, Utah to Howard E. Harrison and Marva (Haglund) Harrison. He moved to Boise, Idaho to attend Boise State College, now Boise State University, graduating
with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1973.
Ray loved Idaho and all it had to offer. He was an avid fisherman and outdoor enthusiast. He enjoyed frequent adventures through the backroads of the state, prospecting, gardening, and was a huge Boise State football fan. He always had a project to work on, and rarely was there one he couldn't handle. He was quick to lend a hand to family and friends, especially if it involved some of his unmistakable laughter, a little cursing, or a combination of both.
In business and in life, Ray knew no strangers. He spent his career with a block manufacturer in Meridian, and BLOCKS was his calling card. His fingerprints can be seen in buildings, roads, and byways throughout the Treasure Valley and Pacific Northwest. For many years he was also a guest lecturer, mentor, and judge for an annual building design competition at the University of
Idaho's College of Architecture.
Ray was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother Harvey E. Harrison. He leaves behind his wife, Julie Harrison, daughter Leslie Pine (John), son Brian Harrison (Samantha), grandchildren Payton, Nathaniel, Timothy, and Chloe, brother Leonard Harrison, sisters Glenda Harrison (Mike) and Jeannie Bautista (Marshall), and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of life at his home in Boise on Saturday, April 3, 2021 beginning at 2:00 p.m.
