I first got to know Gaylene over a decade ago when I invited her to join me on a Caribbean cruise I won. This was the first cruise for both of us and we had so much fun on-board and visited many new places. I was there when our Red Hat Vivacious Violets group began in Mountain Home. Gaylene was much more involved on the national level and traveled to many out-of-state "funventions." Monthly luncheons were a regular happening...whether in a restaurant or a backyard picnic...Gaylene always had some funny stories or jokes to share. I remember her laughing so hard that she was barely able to read the jokes. Another fun fact about Garlene was her love of ketchup, whether at home or in a restaurant...bring on the ketchup! I cherish the times we spent at church...first at Grace, when she came there...then at Christian & Baptist, where I went to the Bible study & women's luncheons with her. Gaylene had a strong faith that gave her hope when she was battling her illnesses. With great respect, I send my condolences to her family and friends, and bid our Red Hat Queen goodbye.
With love, Barbara Bogard
